This time, the programme released 200,000 Giant Freshwater Prawn hatchlings. Since 2022, nearly 600,000 Giant Freshwater Prawn hatchlings have been released. The Fisheries Department also targets the release of 100 thousand Giant Freshwater Prawn hatchlings each year as an ongoing measure to preserve the balance of the river ecosystem and increase public awareness on the importance of conserving aquatic resources.
